Satelite Car TV and mobile satellite tvIn the August 2009, Via Satellite Magazine released an article titled “Commercial Satcoms On The Move Enabling Technologies and Emerging Markets” that highlights the small RaySat T7 antenna used in the AT&T CruiseCast service as ground breaking technology in the field of Mobile Satellite TV.

In the article, the RaySat T7 antenna and its supporting service is described as “a small pod-shaped roof-mount antenna system for cars . . . [that] dynamically tracks the satellite using mechanically steered azimuth tracking and electronically steered elevation . . . [and] can handle up to two minutes of continuous blockage and still provide uninterrupted, high-quality live television.”

As part of the coverage, RaySat Broadcasting Corporations’ service was quoted as having an advantage over other services because it can “expand its bandwidth and programming with new open-market satellite capacity in the future.” RaySat Incorporated is internationally marketing the same system which acts as a direct-to-car fat pipe and has the versatility to be easily upgraded with new applications and increase its channel capacity.
