RayCast Mobile Satellite System Technology Infrastructure

The Blockage Protection Modulater is located in the teleport and modulates a video stream with a high FEC rate and spreads the signal over a full Ku band transponder. Commercially available Ku band satellite is used for dedicated service and inclined orbit satellites can be used to reduce costs. Mechanically steering azimuth and electronically steering elevation, the RaySat antenna is low-profile, compact and aerodynamic to fit any car. The mobile receiver demodulates and decodes the encrypted video stream and provides a buffer of up to 5 minutes to prevent interruptions from Line of Sight blockages

The heart of the satellite communicaiton infrastruction is in the teleport, where the Blockage Protection Modulator modulates a video stream (of up to 2 Mbps). The technology implements a high rate of FEC and an interleaver that statistically increases the probability of video reconstruction by the mobiel receiver. The modulator modulates the data and spread the signal over a full Ku band transponder. The system is integrated with NDS conditional access, midddle ware and a management system. In the future, the system will be integrateable with other CA providers.
